VIDEO: Willie The Kid featuring S-Class Sonny’s “Goodfellas”

WARNING: the following music video contains:
1) female ass cheeks
2) a gun
3) a David Axelrod-produced sample source

You may now proceed.

Willie The Kid has created a video that looks like a long lost movie including money and persuasion, and he has S-Class Sonny joining him for the voyage in what they call “Goodfellas”, taken from Willie’s new recording, #TheCrates. The video was directed by Josh Sikkema.

SOME STUFFS/RECORD CRACK: Valient Thorr doing double duty on tour with 7 inches in their hands

If you haven’t heard of Valient Thorr in awhile, it’s perhaps because they have been out of our orbit and traveling around in universe, doing what they usually do up there. They have returned to Earth, and are honoring their landing by releasing a split 7″ 45 they did with High On Fire. Valient Thorr take up the B-side with a brand new song called “Beast With A Billion Eyes” (maybe a song about a creature they saw while making contact with other planets), while High On Fire offer up “Speak In Tongues”. The 45 comes with a picture sleeve (both sides shown above), and only 1000 copies will be pressed, all on red vinyl. You may order your copies here.

Their Earthly return means they are energized to blast their fans with energy and sound, and they will do so with a U.S. tour that begins tomorrow, where they’ll open up for Corrosion of Conformity, and have Torche and A Storm of Light along for the ride. VIDEO: Lee Fields & The Expressions’ “Sunny (Live)”

Lee Fields – Sunny from JazzReggae Festival on Vimeo.

Lee Fields has been doing his thing for decades, and labels like Soul Fire and Daptone have made it possible for him and his work to be enjoyed in the 21st century. Along with The Expressions, pretty much everything they do is golden, as is the case with this, a live performance of their cover of “Sunny”, show at last year’s JazzReggae Festival at UCLA. It’s a winner and a creamer.

Fields’ new album, Faithful Man, will be released by Truth & Soul on March 13th.

SOME STUFFS: Ed Schrader’s Music Beat to tour with album under pits

While some might call their style of music “minimalist” because they consist of only two members (Ed Schrader and Devlin Rice), their music is more alongside the noisy side of indie rock. Ed Schrader’s Music Beat could be on the thin line between Cheap Trick, Sex Pistols, Beat Happening, and The Alarm and yet you might here things differently. Their approach is minimalist, proving that sometimes all you need is two people, instruments, and energy. Oh, and a tour budget, which is what these guys will be using when on tour in support of their album, Jazz Mind, on the almighty Load Records, due out on March 20th on vinyl and CD. Here, see them:

VIDEO: Sene’s “brooklyknight.”

This is not a music video, but rather a promotional “short film” for Sene‘s forthcoming album, brooklyknight. Most of the time I’m not posting stuff like this, but what I like about it is that it’s a story told by the artist himself, so it comes off as one-part promotional but one-part emotional.

Will this method work for everyone else? Check it out. The album will be released on April 24th via Plug Research.

SOME STUFFS: Dent May has second album ready, and allows fans to see the SXSW experience

Here’s the deal:
Dent May</ has a new album finished and ready to go called Do Things on the Paw Tracks label, and June 12th is when you’ll be able to pick it up. Vinyl is the format of choice, but digital f(r)iends can also get it on the trendy CD and MP3. No word on any summer festival tour dates yet, but he will be at this year’s SXSW doing a number of things while in Austin, Texas. Stop and say hello:

March 14… Austin, TX (KVRX @ Spider House – 2:15pm)
March 15… Austin, TX (Solid Gold @ Cheer Up Charlie’s – TBA)
March 15… Austin, TX (Paw Tracks/Carpark @ 512 Rooftop – Midnight)

Got it? Do your Dent May ‘ukulele duty.

VIDEO: Aaron Cohen’s “Up And Down”

Life is a bitch, but who are these people in masks and heads in this video? I don’t know, but when it comes to Aaron Cohen, you might think “nah, someone like him can’t rap like that” but you’re hearing it, hell… you’re SEEING it, why can’t he rap like that, and what’s “THAT”? Inform.

For those in the know who do not need any need to question, this is brand new in the form of “Up And Down”.

For those who are unaware, this is that new rough stuff that you may like and end up enjoying a lot. It’s psychedelic in everyday, so open your mouth, take an audio tab, and see/hear what happens. Yes, you have been dosed.
