AUDIO: Pete Marriott featuring Romance’s “The Kidnapping”

Photobucket
A new track from Pete Marriott will represent to some people “the real hip-hop”, or at least a style of hip-hop that will make you go “oh damn, I remember when it was all like this.” This is a track from an album due out on October 2nd called Demos, and he has Romance dropping lyrics throughout a song that you may wonder “damn when is this going to end?” but when it gets to its conclusion, you’ll say “that’s it? I want more”. The song itself will be formally released on July 3rd.

Now listen to the track again.

It was recorded in 1987.

“Oh damn, I remember when it was all like this.”

VIDEO: Aesop Rock’s “ZZZ Top”

A new video by Aesop Rock can and should be a good thing, but this one is called “ZZZ Top”. Aesop is not named Frank and doesn’t sport a beard, at least not in this video, directed by Pete Lee. But the song is from his forthcoming Skelethon album on Rhymesayers, which will be released on the greatest format (vinyl LP) along with the “eh, they’re okay” formats (MP3, compact disc). There will also be an instrumental version of the album sold, for those who wish to sing along. Curious what will happen when fans check out another song on their album, “Dokken Rules”.

VIDEO: Rilgood’s “We Rollin II”

You might remember when Rilgood dropped “We Rollin'” and made people get high off of their own hashish tongues. He’s back, and if it’s not broke, take another toke from the joint, right? This is “We Rollin’ II”, and a new song means a new mix tape in the form of Great Expectations, which you can have for it as you make your way towards its July 17th release date.

FREE MP3 DOWNLOAD: Serge Severe’s “Seasons”

Photobucket
“Seasons” is the brand new Zapata-produced track from Serge Severe‘s next project, Silver Novelist, which will be released on July 30th. You can download the song for free right now via Soundcloud.

If hearing this will make you go “damn, I got to hear more from this kid from where?” Then I would say “Portland, Oregon”, and you would go “oh yeah, right on”, then I would lead you to the Bandcamp box below, where you’re able to pre-order the 6-song EP. (If you’re not seeing the player below, you may also click this link.)

AUDIO: Analog (Preach Jacobs & Dose)’s “Bet You Didn’t Know That”

Photobucket
If you’ve been waiting for new music from the Preach Jacobs and Dose collabrative project known as Analog, wait no more. “Bet You Didn’t Know That” is from their forthcoming album Arrow of God, which will be released on 12/12/12. That means of course you have to wait to hear it in full, but you can listen to one song immediately. As in now. Go ahead. I highly look forward to hearing the rest of it.
