SOME STUFFS: The Phoenix Foundation have new album on its way

The Phoenix Foundation photo PHXFoundation_old_zpsf2593942.jpg
The Phoenix Foundation will be rising from their New Zealand home base, as the group have completed an album scheduled for a May 14th release. Memphis Industries will be releasing Fandango as a double LP, a compact disc, as well as in the trendy digital format known as the MP3.

Their style of pop, with hints of electronic techno feel-goodness, can and may become an addiction for all who hear it, found out for yourself by listening to “The Captain”, but don’t get sick from being on the PHX Foundation boat.

SOME STUFFS: Lycaon Pictus hit the big screen with (formerly) small song

Lycaon Pictus photo Lycaon-Pictus_old_zps4f09d92f.jpg
“I Give You A Rose” is a song Lycaon Pictus recorded and released in 2005. Eight years later, the song gets renewed awareness as the band perform the song in the film Girls Against Boys. Because of this occasion, the band have allowed the track to be downloaded for free.

Lycaon (pronounced like “Nikon”) Pictus have been doing their thing from that Brooklyn HQ for awhile, and now they’ll get a chance to be heard by more people. The film, directed by Austin Chick, will make its debut this Friday (February 1st) at two theaters:

Los Angeles, CA… (The Laemmle’s Noho 7)
New York, NY (Quad Cinema)

For everyone else, the film will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on Febtuary 26th.

VIDEO: The Child Of Lov’s “Give Me (Two Inch Punch Remix)”

If this song had a tongue, it would be something that would taste itself. What Two Inch Punch has done to The Child Of Lov’s “Give Me” is nothing short of amazing, almost making it reach the borderline of something on the level of Andre 3000/Outkast.

WARNING: This video features images of a luxurious limousine, red velvet cake, a microphone, a motorcycle, BBQ chicken, a bowl of hot dogs, and two pineapples.

VIDEO: P.SO the Earth Tone King’s “Vertebrae”

P.SO the Earth Tone King is his moniker, and “Vertebrae” is an intense listen, which he has interpreted into a video, which partly looks like a slight update of A Tribe Called Quest’s “Jazz” video. Maybe that’s just me but as for the music, the song is from his The Gateway to Greatness album.

FREE MP3 DL: Le1F’s “Fly Zone”

Le1f photo Le1fFZ_cover_zps93bacc5f.jpg
You dig him, you love him, maybe you have fantasized about him, that’s all on you. But what will also be all over you is Le1f’s brand new street album called Fly Zone, which makes me want to ask: what are the forbidden zones and what happens when you create music where nothing is forbidden? Again, that’s all on you, and maybe that’s the point, isn’t it? The download link is on the bottom right hand corner of the Soundcloud player below.

(NOTE: If you’re unable to access the download link, you may click here (97.56mb).)

FREE MP3 DL: John Grant’s “Black Belt”

John Grant photo JohnGrant_old_zpsb4003ba1.jpg
His photos make him look dignified, and his music? Equally so, but not in the way you may expect, especially if you judge a photo by its cover. Or something like that. This is John Grant and you may download his song “Black Belt”, which will be on his forthcoming album on Partisan Records called Pale Green Ghosts. I’m not allowed to embed a player, so you’ll have to click here to have a listen.

VIDEO: Lights & Motion’s “Home”

A wonderful song has been transformed into a video. In this case I speak of Lights & Motion’s “Home”, which may remind you of where you’re from, or at least remind you of good days gone by. If you like the song, you can download it for free for a limited time below, via Amazon.
