While Henri-Pierre Noël recorded an album, Piano, in 1979, there were a few songs from those sessions that had not been released. Upon remastering (from the multitracks) and reissuing the album for release this year, the Wah Wah 45’s label discovered two songs that were not released, and felt it was right to release it as a 7″ single and in digital form. The A-side is a cover of Walter Murphy’s arrangement of “A Fifth Of Beethoven”, while the B-side gets more laid back with a cover of Joe Zawinul’s “Mercy, Mercy, Mercy”, turned into a hit by Cannonball Adderley in 1966. Now you’re able to get a chance to listen to these two songs on vinyl, and you may hear both below with the Bandcamp player below, where you’ll also be able to purchase the 7″ single from the UK. You may also buy it directly from the page at Wah Wah 45’s.
