AUDIO: XL (Sadat X & El Da Sensei)’s “We Must Stand”

That man known as 9th Wonder has a song ready for the fall of 2015 called “We Must Stand” and who did he produce? That man who is on the flex known as Sadat X and El Da Sensei, who together call themselves XL. No word on if this will find a home on a project but X and El are putting together an album to be released early in the new year so we’ll see if this shows up on there.

People who are in tune with 9th Wonder’s Jamla label know how much he and others have been pushing for people to become aware of Rapsody. Songs with her have been dropped here and there, and then word of an album materializing was out. The album has finally been released for all to hear, and best of all, she’s making it available for free. It’s called She Got Game and it’s safe to say when you, your main man and your mama hears this, they will all repeat the name of this album. FREE MP3 DL: Fluent’s “Cash Flow”

 photo Fluent_cover_zps02c2eb82.jpg
From the days of Galaga to wondering about the futuristic unknown, Fluent has seen it and hopes to see more in the years ahead. This North Carolina MC will be releasing the album RetroFuture next week Tuesday, and this song is a mere taste of it. It’s called “Cash Flow”, which may very well be about the money he desires, or that his flow is “cash money”, worthy of you taking time to listen. Also worth your time is the production of 9th Wonder, who produced this and RetroFuture in full. The album will also feature contributions from J. Cardim, SpaceGhostPurp, and Royce da 5’9. For now, take a slice of the “Flow”, which you may download for free, while supplies last.

For one generation, GQ was the name of the band who released their hit song, “Disco Nights”, in 1979. Today, GQ is an MC by the name of Quentin Thomas, and in 2013 he is about to unveil two albums. The proper album will be called Death Threats and Love Notes but before that, a pre-cursor called Death Threats and Love Notes: The Prelude, which features one of three tracks produced by 9th Wonder called “The Town”, the video of which you may view above. It will be released on 9th’s own label, Jamla, so along with working with a number of other producers (including Sinopsis, Eric G., Fatin, and Khrysis), GQ and his music is sure to get a nice and significant buzz so if this is your first introduction, get familiar with him. He plans on working for awhile.

VIDEO: MURS & 9th Wonder’s “What Up Tho”

MURS and 9th Wonder collaborated on an album called The Final Adventure, although if you were to watch this video (and I know you will), you’d wonder why there would be a “last” anything. It’s for the song “What Up Tho” and warning: a food fight is involved in this video production. Awesome video, great song.

VIDEO: Rapsody featuring Nomsa Mazwai’s “Kind Of Love”

Brand new video from an MC you might have heard about, perhaps on the radio, a mixtape or two, or maybe in the social media circuit but if you have not heard Rapsody rap yet, begin here. She is on 9th Wonder’s label Jamla, and while many have wanted to like her simply because of the 9th connections, she is very much someone who represents, on her own, the good hip-hop. When you are working with a producer who knows and understands that “good hip-hop”, it’s a perfect union. She is united here with Nomsa Mazwai in a powerful song, complimented in video form by the very-busy-as-of-late Kenneth Price. It’s also more than just music. As Rapsody, it also represents home, which is North Carolina. To paraphrase, Method Man, no need to fuck around when you got that good shit at home, but Rapsody is ready for your ears and mind, no matter the locale you call home.

The song is from her album The Idea Of Beautiful, which was released today.
