VIDEO: Militia Vox’s “We Don’t Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)”

From her new EP Bait, Militia Vox creates a video for Tina Turner’s “We Don’t Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)”, which may have been considered daring during a time when Turner was at another career high, but all you have to do is listen to the lyrics and understand what she, songwriters Graham Lyle and Terry Britten were trying to convey with it.

The EP consists of cover versions showing some of her influences and inspirations, and you can listen to it in full below. The EP is a preview of a double album to come next year called The Villainess.

VIDEO: Mount Eerie’s “The Place Lives”

What would you do if you are a music artist but have never made a music video, but knowing it can be a means of promoting your music? In the case of Mount Eerie, you put that task in the hands of director Phil Elverum. In this case, Mount Eerie is Phil Elverum, and there lies the challenge. The end result didn’t end up in the recycle bin on his computer, but instead it’s here for you to see in the form of “The Place Lives”.

About a month from now, you’ll be able to see Elverum and Mount Eerie on the road, perhaps together, perhaps individually, we’re not sure, but it’s to promote his/their forthcoming album on his own P.W. Elverum and Sun label, Ocean Roar. It will be released on September 4th.
