Syler seems to be taking on a number of roles in his career: rapper, songwriter, producer. The current and forthcoming generation of artists want full control of their artistry so they can have a way on how they’re presented and who gets a chance to hear and see them. It’s one of those things that a lot of artists of the past didn’t get a chance to do themselves, but Syler wants to make a difference and he’s doing this. A part of what he does can be heard in “What I Am”, and for this one he simply handled the rapping and writing, and allowed J. Glaze to handle things behind the boards. The song will be on Syler’s forthcoming street album, One Minute To Midnight, scheduled for release on November 19th.
On its way from NYC’s Syler is a street album called One Minute To Midnight, and as he adds the final touches to the project in full, you can listen to one of its songs right now called “Goin’ Nowhere”, produced by J. Glaze and features Skyzoo and Lydia Caesar. If it moves you, consider buying it below from Amazon.
JoJo Pellegrino has a brand new track produced by J. Glaze, and for this one they embrace Led Zeppelin’s (untitled 4th album) and do something more than just sample “When The Levee Breaks”. They go for “Black Dog” with the almighty “Led Shower”, and it also has him honoring the late Chris Lighty. Now climb a mountain and grab that lantern.
