VIDEO: Tuxedo’s “Holiday Love”

Mayer Hawthorne & Jake One are Tuxedo and they have a new track they’d like to lay on you all, in time for the holiday season we are in, and it’s appropriately titled “Holiday Love”. Get some chestnuts, an open fire, and some mistletoe and play this to warm you and your significant other up. It’s magical inside.

SOME STUFFS: Seattle’s Grynch shines “Street Lights” on new recording
Grynch is back with an all new album, eleven new songs plus an remix and he’s calling it Street Lights. If you know how he is, you know the man is capable of dropping nicely in a manner that requires for you to listen, and then to listen to it a few times again. The new one features appearances from Slug of Atmosphere, Wizdom, Mario Sweet, Kokane, Bambu, and more, along with productions from Jake One, D-Sane, Justo (The Physics), BeanOne, and… just get the album and find out.

SOME STUFFS: Portugal. The Man, Danny Brown, and Jake One…togetha?

Jake One, a deep Seattle Supersonics fan, was able to not only do a remix for Portugal. The Man, but he also was able to get Danny Brown to bless the remix with his presence and what you have is a new version of “Evil Friends”. I don’t think these friends (real or perceived) are evil, but you never know, especially with the way the music industry is moving these days.

VIDEO: Sol, Geo & Preach’s “Dawgs In The House”

When it comes to Washington State, 2Pac said it best that “the west side is the best side”, and when you represent the west side of Washington, you do it by celebrating the UW (you-dub), specifically the Huskies. Had I got my shit together after high school, I would have attended UW and maybe (read “big maybe”) could’ve made something of myself.

But what to do? Get some of Seattle’s best to put down a track that is true to their school, so you have Sol, Geologic of Blue Scholars, and Gregory “Preach” Christine to hook up with producer (and Jollibee fan) Jake One) to put together a song that should be a hot track when the annual Apple Cup comes around. What’s going to be the WSU song, “We Got A Silo & Cheese”? Fuck that. No Cougs, it’s all about saying Go Huskies in this honorable track, “Dawgs In The House”. WOOF!

SOME STUFFS: Artwork and packaging for new Freeway & Jake One CD revealed
Haven’t bought a CD in, I don’t know, ages? Buying hard copy means missing the packaging that some artists and labels support. Case in point: the forthcoming Freeway & Jake One collab album on Rhymesayers, Stimulus Package. This is up there with the original packaging for Alice Cooper‘s Billion Dollar Babies album.
