The superfresh Mochipet have put together this nice mash-up by blending in an artist who has many Grammy nominations in 2016 with a band who were one of the best and celebrated of the early 90’s. Uniting Kendrick Lamar with Tool may have been a dream of yours but that dream is now a reality. Will it become a nightmare? Nah, but listen to “Sober Swimming Pools (Drank)” and find out how solid this is.
Easily from one of the best albums of the year, “Alright” is the new one from rapper Kendrick Lamar, taken from his album To Pimp A Butterfly. This is easily one of the best music videos of the year too, of any genre, so have a look and listen.
Kendrick Lamar is liked and hated at the same time, which means he’s the hot one to watch. He found his way in a new track by Blue, The Misfit. He is the Dallas-based producer you may know as King Blue, who put together Schoolboy Q’s “To The Beat” and Lamar’s “P&P”. This is why Lamar decided to probably say it’s reciprocal”, thus his presence in Blue’s own cut, and it’s a cut of sorts. Check out “Drugs On The Schoolyard” and see how it punches you in the gut.
This video is not for those who are into bitch nuggets, in fact, it’s called “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe”. It is performed by Tyler Berg and Angéle Anise who help out Charlie Coffeen in this beast of a tune that is said to be “an R&B flip on Kendrick’s hit”. Not sure who Kendrick is (joke) but you may be satisfied with it, maybe even more than the original.
Kendrick Lamar became one of the hottest artists of 2012, with an album that has received quite a bit of praise and attention. Now, in the capable hands (and mind) of DJ Platurn, one of his songs gets a nice and proper edit. It’s for the track “Swimming Pools”, and is this better than the original? It’s possible. Download it for free for a limited time (i.e. “while supplies last”.)
