You may have already known of artist Kid Sister but for her latest project, she morphs into someone new. You may have to call her Jane Jupiter, or at least what’s what she makes herself out to be on her new street album DUSK2DAWN- The Diary of Jane Jupiter, featuring a number of new songs. The question remains: is the name/persona change just for the album, or is she pulling what a number of artists have done in recent years, and will she do this successfully? Like Asia, only time will tell, but let’s see and hear what happens next. Free download, while supplies last.
Kiss & Tell is the forthcoming EP from Kid Sister, but look at the cover, just look at this. The idea that Melisa Young calls herself Kid Sister and saying Kiss & Tell, it means a brother and sister are being romantic? Sick.
Stupidity aside, the EP will be released on November 29th, here is the official track listing:
1. Mickey (Produced by Nadastrom)
2. Hide & Seek feat. Riff Raff (Produced by Sinden & 5kinandbone5)
3. Cliq Claq (Produced by Scoop Deville)
4. Gucci Rag Top (Remix) featuring Danny Brown (Produced by Scoop Deville)
Her bio calls her a “stunning rapper & singer extraordinaire”, but how much of that is pure hype? These days, stunning is based on how much jewels you have, and how many extraordinary singers are there? One might argue that most are truly “extra ordinary”. But Kid Sister may have the formula you’re looking for, at least judging from some of the buzz she has gained this year and she’ll prove herself with the release of her debut album, Ultraviolet (due out November 17th on RCRD LBL). This is a sliver of what is to be expected.
The label also has a bunch of different downloads that you can check out right now by heading there.
