BEST OF 2012: My favorite music videos of the year

Let me say this off the top: this is not a list of every single music video that was made in 2012. Making a video is now the norm these days, and at times the amount of videos I have a chance in posting is overwhelming. What this is is a listing of my favorites of music videos I have seen and enjoyed. It could be due to the artist, it could be due to the song, it could be a mixture of both, plus some visuals that I found pleasing to my eyes and thus the mind. I did not have a specific video I felt was the absolute best, but I felt these stood out for whatever reason.

VIDEO: Kimya Dawson’s “Solid and Strong”

This has to be said: this will definitely become one of my favorite music videos of 2012. It reminds me of old films they used to show at school, or what you would see within an episode of Sesame Street, and there are times when I wish music was that simple and easy. It’s a nice song, and the song is called “Solid And Strong”, so Kimya Dawson is on a mission. I suggest we all dip in.

VIDEO: Kimya Dawson’s “Driving Driving Driving”

For Kimya Dawson‘s new video, all she did was go into her living room to hang out with her daughter and have some playtime. This is the result, a song called “Driving Driving Driving”, and it’s a cute video too. If you like the song, you’re able to download it free of charge by clicking here. Go ahead.

The song is a slice of what will be on Dawson’s forthcoming album, Thunder Thighs, due out next week Tuesday (October 18th).
