BEST OF 2012: My favorite music videos of the year

Let me say this off the top: this is not a list of every single music video that was made in 2012. Making a video is now the norm these days, and at times the amount of videos I have a chance in posting is overwhelming. What this is is a listing of my favorites of music videos I have seen and enjoyed. It could be due to the artist, it could be due to the song, it could be a mixture of both, plus some visuals that I found pleasing to my eyes and thus the mind. I did not have a specific video I felt was the absolute best, but I felt these stood out for whatever reason.

VIDEO: Nosaj Thing featuring Kazu Makino’s “Eclipse/Blue”

Nosaj Thing gets into the stratosphere with “Eclipse/Blue”, a track that features Kazu Makino of the group Blonde Redhead. The minimalist approach to this video was done by Daito Manabe, which was done very well and suits the song brilliantly.

The song is from his forthcoming album Home, to be released by Timetable/Innovative Leisure, and for this project it will be the first time he has used guest vocalists, for which Makino is one of many.

RECORD CRACK: Nosaj Thing to release new 10″ single

Nosaj Thing is about to release a new single for the song “Eclipse/Blue”, and it can be pre-ordered as a 10″ being released by Innovative Leisure/Timetable. You can do so by ordering via Amazon below. The track features Blonde Redhead vocalist/guitarist, and this is one of those songs that will stick with you long after it’s finished (at least it did for me. Listen to the song for free, then pick up the 10″. You can also pre-order it digitally.

The single is a preview of what’s to come on his forthcoming album, Home, which will also feature the almighty Toro y Moi. While the 10″ will be released next month, Home will reach its destination in early 2013.
