SOME STUFFS: Woodsist Festival to be held at two venues this year

With help from the good people at Folk Yeah, the Woodsist Festival will be returning this year to the Henry Miller Library in Big Sur, California but as an added treat, a third day has been added at Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown, California. The venues are about seven to eight hours away from one another, but it will give people in each area to catch some great music. If you are able to make the drive or flight from one city to the other, awesome.

The Big Sur shows (tickets will be available here) will have six bands per day, while the Pioneertown show (tickets to be sold here) will have a total of seven. The festival begins just after the first day of fall, here is the list of scheduled performers for each show:

VIDEO: Peaking Lights’ “Dream Beat”

This is one of those videos that means absolutely nothing, and that’s great. There are no current laws where a music video is supposed to make a statement, sometimes it is random images, people, colors, and things placed in a sequence for the sake of occupying real estate in your mind bucket. Peaking Lights figured “eh, let’s put in a bathing suit and roam a desert. Let’s put on some denim shorts. Let’s walk in a neighbor hood, walk down from a subway, meet some kids, and then meet with some club kids doing wicked moves at a nightclub” and it worked. This is “Dream Beat”, and it looks like a dream worth exploring in an awake state.

The song is from their Mexican Summer Records EP, Lucifer, which you can order below via Amazon. If you enjoy listening to your music on cassette, Lucifer can be purchased directly from
