Is The Is Are and you are for what is could be um what may be the kind of conversation that would confuse people, but Is The Is Are is the name of the album by DIIV, who have released what is described as ‘the 4th song from” it called “Dopamine.” You may have it to hear as the jingle-jangle instrumentation coats itself over the wonderful harmonies and melodies.

VIDEO: Sleater-Kinney’s “Ask A Grown Woman”

Sleater-Kinney photo SleaterKinney_old_zpsn52s7fgo.jpg
The mates in Sleater-Kinney will be performing at the Pitchfork Music Festival this weekend so while the show is sold out, you may want to find out if any local radio stations are giving away free tickets. If not, hang outside and listen to them behind the fence, it may be worth it. The band also have a bunch of shows that’ll wrap up 2015 nicely, including a two-date engagement at the Corono Capitol Festival in Mexico City, so head there if you can. Until then, watch Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker tell you to “Ask A Grown Woman” and you might learn something new about yourself. It’s a bit of Q&A and they offer some A. “Ask A Grown***” is a video series you can find over at

VIDEO: Sleater-Kinney’s “A New Wave”

The ladies in Sleater-Kinney are animated now. No, I don’t mean they or their music wasn’t before but for real this time, if they look like they walked out of an episode of Bob’s Burgers, it’s for good reason. The song is from their new album No Cities to Love (Sub Pop) so if you haven’t heard it yet, get it now.
