SOME STUFFS: Demon Head want to “Ride The Wilderness” with debut album
Denmark band Demon Head released a demo last year that brought them a bit of attention. A year later, they are presenting their heavy rock debut album and they are hoping people will give them a shot. Ride The Wilderness (Wolf Biker) sounds like something straight out of the early to mid-1970’s but with the grace and energy of today’s times. You can stream the album in full above via Bandcamp but also consider buying it digitally or vinyl, CD, and even cassette.

VIDEO: The Vintage Caravan’s “Crazy Horses”

This “Crazy Horses” has nothing to do with the well known Osmonds song, but it’s a stoner rock soon-to-be classic by The Vintage Caravan, who have released an album last week called Arrival, which fits them alongside ABBA. Will they become monarchs like ABBA? If you listen to this, you might say “oh hell yeah”.

REVIEW: Salem’s Lot’s “…Lurar Ut Dig På Prärien”

photo SalemsLot_cover_zps539d8a65.jpg Salem’s Lot are the kind of band that like to take things slow and easy, ease up to where they have to go and should go, then play slower. Their album …Lurar Ut Dig På Prärien (Easy Rider) is what used to be called a “back of the counter” album, or the type of music you used to have to either look for because it was either hidden or not available in the regular part of the store, it is too unique and special so you had to ask for it. These guys are like a mixture of Black Sabbath, The Stooges, and some Italian prog rock band that love acid more than hashish. There are only three songs on this album, the longest (“Creep Purple”) running at close to 15 minutes while the other two play around the nine minute mark, so if you were to write these tunes as pop songs, they might last for two minutes and fifty seconds. With Salem’s Lot, you’re going to go the long and great way, and they do it with nice arrangements and adjustments throughout.

VIDEO: Saturn’s “So, You’ve Chosen Death”

After watching this 75 second video for “So, You’ve Chosen Death”, you’re going to be impatient to hear more. Other release dates for your part of the world will be announced very soon.

REVIEW: Sandrider’s “Godhead”

photo Sandrider_cover_zps2fec500c.jpg As I’m listening to Sandrider’s Godhead (Good To Die), I was reminded of what the term “Godhead” means. When someone applies the word to something, they are overwhelmed, blown away, or are taken aback by how good, power, or moving it is. In this case, Sandrider are heavy in every sense of the word, using elements of punk, hardcore, metal, and some pop tendencies to create a sound that sounds like a mixture of Therapy?, Rage Against The Machine, Foo Fighters, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Queens Of The Stone Age. There’s a great amount of melody found within the angst and volume that may be the first things people will head. Yet tucked underneath that are a band that rip shit up in a way that brings home the point of what a powerful rock band can sound like when determined to, well, rock. Are Sandrider Godhead? I feel they are, your mileage may vary but I feel these guys want to take on all rides and want to do that with those who are willing to ride along with them. Buckle up.

VIDEO: ASG’s “Scrappy’s Trip”

Blood Drive (Relapse) is the latest album by ASG, and their brand of bluesy metal is ripping up hearts and abdomens big time. The band just released a new video for the song “Scrappy’s Trip” and truth be told, it’s massively great.
