VIDEO: Wunder Wunder’s “Coastline”

They’re sounding California but they’re feeling Melbourne. Those are not the words sung by Soundgarden but is the way the duo Wunder Wunder are describing themselves, which you’ll get to know with their forthcoming debut album on Dovecote Records called Everything Infinite. The hope is that you’ll end up infinitely loving them, or at least enough to want to love them tentatively, and they’re making that happen with the release of “Coastline”. They may sound California but they did everything within their home studio, but they’re going to make it over to Los Angeles on the 21st of April to play at Bardot for It’s A School Night. If you can, they’d love for you to attend.

FREE DL: The Rebel Light’s “Jukebox Dream”

There’s a nostalgic feel to “Jukebox Dream”, even the title itself is a throwback to a time long gone, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Los Angeles’ The Rebel Light take their brand of pop back to the late 60’s and early 70’s, when music by The Cowsills, The Association, The Bay City Rollers, and ABBA were all the rage, and while it may sound a bit kitschy at times, there’s a bit more going on than trying to capture an old feel. The harmonies and melodies live up to the idea of this being a dream, and if the dream feels good, why not make it come true? It’s also the perfect song to play as we in the northern hemisphere slowly head towards the months involving the winter blahs.

VIDEO: Young Hunting’s “Maze”

Young Hunting – Maze from Young Hunting on Vimeo.

Five piece bands are plentiful, especially in the Los Angeles, but none of them are Young Hunting. With their album Hazel (Gold Robot) out for almost two months, the group decided to head to a park, bring in some people, and have a fabulash blast. The end result is their video for “Maze”, which may very well be a puzzle in itself but it’s more a-maze-ing than anything. ANYTHING, I SAID! The video presentation was directed by Ashkahn.

If you’re in Southern California in the next few weeks, you’ll have two chances to see Young Hunting perform live:
August 8… San Diego, CA (Soda Bar) @
August 17… Los Angeles, CA (Echo Park Rising Festival)

@ w/ Swim Team & Palmbomen
