VIDEO: Supreme Cuts featuring Channy of Poliça’s “Envision”

Divine Ecstasy (Dovecote/Memphis Industries) is Supreme Cuts’ latest album that was released last month and if you’re into hot dance music that is not only for the moment but what you want to listen to tomorrow, next week, and in ten to twenty years, pick up this album. You want to know why though, right? Check out “Envision”, which is visually exciting but it’s a way to duplicate what you’re hearing, a very energetic song that will put you on the dance floor and make you want to move in all ways possible.

AUDIO: Supreme Cuts featuring Mahaut Mondino’s “Gone”

 photo SupremeCuts_cover_zps4204952d.jpg
This song has to be heard to be believed. Chicago duo Supreme Cuts have definitely put together their moniker, or at least one cut as a teaser for what’s to come, and it’s the form of a song called “Gone”, which isn’t. It’s right here. It features the vocals of Mahaut Mondino. If the last name is familiar, she is the daughter of legendary music video director Jean Baptiste Mondino, creator of the classic song “La Danse Des Mots”, which was released 30 years ago. Now you get the new era of Mondino with this song that is not to be slept on. The single will be released on the 12th of November, while a full length will be released via Dovecote on January 28th in what will be called Divine Ecstasy, which I am sure it will be.

VIDEO: Hooray For Earth’s “Never/Figure”

They are called a “dream-pop group”, but are they? Is this group from New York called Hooray For Earth about the dreaminess in their music? Well, “they” have a point, and you can listen and watch those points in the form of “Never/Figure”, which are two different songs but are distinct from one another to where you might say “okay, what is this?”, leading to “OKAY, WHAT IS THIS!”

If you like the “this” that “they” create, you’ll be able to see “them” (them = Hooray For Earth) perform in January:

VIDEO: Supreme Cuts & Haleek Maul’s “M00N”

At times it’s difficult to see what is going on in this video, but maybe that’s the point for Supreme Cuts and Haleek Maul, in that that’s exactly what they wanted. This video is for a track called “M00n” from their Chrome Lips album on Mishka.

SOME STUFFS: Sophomore album on its way from Teengirl Fantasy

Photobucket
Fans of Teengirl Fantasy will have to wait for three months to have a new album from them, but it may very well be worth the wait. Tracer (True Panther Sounds/R&S) is slated (I don’t usually use that word, but it might look nice on my resume) for August 21st and will be released on a good format (vinyl), a still decent format (CD), and the one that everyone can have (digital). The album will feature a few special guests: Kelela, Laurel Halo and Panda Bear. Almost sounds like a forgotten anime. You are able to pre-order the LP and CD versions by heading to TruePanther.com.

You’ll be able to hear the new music this weekend if you are in NYC and Chicago, as they’re doing a small handful of shows. Check them out if possible.
June 2… Brooklyn, NY – Music Hall of Williamsburg ^
