VIDEO: Teengirl Fantasy’s “Nun”

The new video by Teengirl Fantasy reminds of the random images that used to pass for music videos in the late 70’s/early 80’s, before MTV existed and one of the few places you could spot “promotional film clips” was on cable public access channels. This video, put together by Hans Lo, is a throwback to that time but the music pushes forward. It’s the title track to the Teengirl Fantasy EP due out November 25th (November 26th in the U.S.) on the This Is Music label.

FREE MP3 DL: Dent May’s “Let Them Talk (Teengirl Fantasy Remix)”

 photo DentMay_old_zpsf2ce30a0.jpg
A house remix of a Dent May song may sound insane, but it has happened and you can thank Teengirl Fantasy for this reality. The original version is the third single from his latest album (his second), Warm Blanket (Paw Tracks) but who knows, maybe he’ll find a new audience amongst house fans. “Dent, I’ll house you, you’re in my hut now” will become the new anthem at his shows. Or not, but it’s a nice revision of one of his songs.

May has made sure to be on the road this winter in the northern hemisphere, you’ll have a number of chances to experience him live:

SOME STUFFS: Teengirl Fantasy have shared first track from forthcoming second album

Almost two months ago, Teengirl Fantasy made the announcement for their second album, Tracer (R&S/True Panther Sounds), and now they’re revealing a track for all to hear. This sounds like incidental/soundtrack music from the 80’s, but perfected. There’s someone more to this that I like, but I want to hear how this pieces in with the rest of it.

Fans of Teengirl Fantasy will have to wait for three months to have a new album from them, but it may very well be worth the wait. Tracer (True Panther Sounds/R&S) is slated (I don’t usually use that word, but it might look nice on my resume) for August 21st and will be released on a good format (vinyl), a still decent format (CD), and the one that everyone can have (digital). The album will feature a few special guests: Kelela, Laurel Halo and Panda Bear. Almost sounds like a forgotten anime. You are able to pre-order the LP and CD versions by heading to TruePanther.com.

You’ll be able to hear the new music this weekend if you are in NYC and Chicago, as they’re doing a small handful of shows. Check them out if possible.
