Vocalist Kilo Kish released her Across EP earlier this year but now has a Christmas recording to end 2014 on a good note. This one is called “002: Attempted Holiday Readings”, where her approach is taking various Christmas stories and combining them for listening, perhaps near a fireplace or anywhere that may be comfortable.
For 2015, there is an Across Remixes EP in the works and will be out in January.
Kilo Kish’s latest project is an EP called Across and from it is a song that has been formed into a video called “Locket”, put together by director Phillip T. Annand. Some may say Kish looks like Andre 3000, but you may see and hear something/someone else. This is okay.
The people of the Odd Future collective are now trying to tell people about The Jellyfish Mentality, and what goes on in the mind when that mentality is embraced. In truth, it’s a new album by The Jet Age Of Tomorrow, a team consisting of Hal Williams and Matt Martians. The both of them bring together the likes of Mike G. Hodgy Beats, Domo Genesis, Earl Sweatshirt, Syd The Kyd, SBTRKT, and Midtown Pat, Mac Miller, Speak, Casey Veggies, Kilo Kish, The Stepkids, Vince Staples, and Jesse Boykins III, and who knows who else was squeezed into this Mentality they speak of.
kilo kish (all lower-case letters) has released a new video called “Navy” for a split single that she’ll be releasing on The Blue Rider label. The single will be a split 10″ with a MeLo-X remix of the song on the flip side.
kilo kish is on that mystical vibe thay may remind fans of Ambersunshower, Ladybug Mecca, Me’Shell NdegeOcello, and Andre 3000, and by saying “mystical” in hip-hop circles might make a few go “nah, I’m not listening to that shit”. How do you know if you didn’t “dare” to press play? Check it out.
A recent collaboration with Syd The Kid of The Internet will lead to the both of them doing a show together in Los Angeles, as part of two performances scheduled in October on both American coasts, see both if you can but at least show up if you’re in the vicinity: October 11… New York City – Terminal 5 ^
October 14… Los Angeles – Club Nokia ^&
